Manifold Trick: Swapping The Valve & Cap

Using just one Garden Grid™ with your Garden Grid™ Manifold? Here’s a simple trick to give you more flexibility: swap the cap and valve positions. It takes less than a minute and opens the door to even more ways to water—whether you're connecting a hose or planning for future garden beds.

Manifold Trick: Swapping The Valve & Cap

How the Manifold Works

Each multi-Garden Grid™ Manifold includes:

  • Two valves at the top – to adjust water flow to your Garden Grids™
  • One accessory cap at the bottom, which you can remove to connect an outgoing garden hose to link to another garden.
  • One swivel connector – used for your incoming garden hose connection

While the swivel doesn't need to move, the valves and cap are completely interchangeable - and that’s what makes this trick so useful.

The Trick: Swap the Cap & Valve

If you’re only connecting one Garden Grid™ to a Multi-Garden Grid™ Manifold, the second manifold valve won’t be used - so, let’s put it to good use.

Step 1: Unscrew the unused valve and the bottom cap
Step 2: Swap their positions and tighten them on

Now, when you connect a garden hose to the bottom of the manifold, you’ll have a valve right there to control water flow; no extra parts needed.

    Alternate Option:

Prefer to control the flow at the end of the hose instead?

You can still do the swap—move the cap to the unused valve position—but instead of placing the valve on the manifold, attach it to the end of the outgoing garden hose. This gives you control right where the water exits.
