Specs & Compatibility
-
“1/2 inch” irrigation tubing is a nominal size, meaning the name doesn’t reflect the exact measurement.
Most tubing sold as 1/2" actually measures around ~0.65"–0.72" outside diameter, which is what this adapter is designed to fit.
-
Yes — if your tubing measures around ~0.65″–0.72″ outside diameter (OD) and ~0.52″–0.62″ inside diameter (ID), it should work well. Any ID that is smaller is not recommended.
Funny pipe can feel tighter than poly tubing, so you may want to warm the end with hot water to make installation easier.
-
Works with most 1/2" poly, irrigation, and distribution tubing or swing/funny pipe*, used to supply water to gardens.
Best fit is tubing that measures ~0.65″–0.72″ outside diameter (OD) and ~0.52″–0.62″ inside diameter (ID).
*Funny pipe often has a smaller ID. Always check dimensions. This item is not compatible with any ID smaller than 0.52 inches. -
Simply press the barbed end into the open end of your tubing by hand. Rocking it slightly while pressing can make installation easier.
For tighter fits, warming the tubing with hot water can help.
-
