Automatic Watering, Upgraded
Higher Flow. Better Connections. More Control.
-
Yes — setup instructions are included, and they’re written by gardeners to be clear, practical, and easy to follow. Most setups take just a couple minutes.
-
Instructions are included with a simple step by step process.
Basic Setup:
Install 2 AA batteries, set your schedule using the dial and buttons, attach the timer to your outdoor hose spigot, connect your hose or watering setup to the outlet, and turn the spigot on. Once set, the timer automatically turns on and off based on your schedule. -
Yes! All GIM™ products, including this timer, use standard 3/4" garden hose thread connectors - the same threads garden hoses, sprinklers, and hose spigots use.
It works with standard garden hoses, sprinklers, Garden Grids™, Garden Grid™ Manifolds, GIM™ Hoses, GIM™ 1/2" Irrigation Line to Hose Adapter, and other GIM™ watering add-ons. It’s a popular companion for Garden Grid™ setups because it helps automate watering while keeping everything simple and tidy. -
Yes. If you don’t have a standard hose spigot nearby, you can use our GIM™ Irrigation Line Adapter to turn compatible 1/2" irrigation tubing into a standard hose-thread connection.
-
The timer uses 2 AA batteries. Batteries are not included.
-
The timer is designed for outdoor use in temperatures from 40°F to 113°F.
-
No. Disconnect and store the timer indoors before freezing temperatures. Water left inside the timer can freeze, expand, and damage internal parts or fittings.
-
IP55 means the timer is protected against dust intrusion and water jets from any direction. In garden terms, it’s built for humidity, splashes, sprays, and rainy days.
-
IP55 offers stronger water protection than IP54. IP54 protects against splashing water, while IP55 adds protection against direct water spray, heavy splashes, and rainy outdoor conditions — giving you more confidence in the humid, wet environments where garden timers actually live.
-
It depends on your water pressure, hose length, layout, and Garden Grid™ sizes. Here are some general guidelines to help.
- 1 - 4x8 Garden Grid has an output of 2-2.25GPM.
- 1 - 3x6 Garden Grid has an output of 1.125-1.27 GPM
- This timer has a flow rate that's about 17% higher than many timers. It has a max flow of 10.8 GPM at a max PSI of 116. Many homes average around 55 PSI. At 55 PSI, the volume of water that will pass through this timer is about 8.3 GPM.
- To maximize available water at your garden, keep your garden hoses as short as possible (longer lengths progressively restrict flow) and avoid unnecessary add-ons such as pressure reducers (they're not needed as long as your PSI is below 116)
-
Very little. The built-in filter screen should be checked occasionally and rinsed clean if debris builds up. We also recommend checking the battery indicator every few months during the gardening season so watering schedules continue running smoothly.
Like most outdoor hose timers, the unit should be disconnected, drained, and stored indoors before freezing temperatures arrive to help prevent damage from expanding ice.
