Can The Garden Grid™ Connect To A Sprinkler/Irrigation Line?
In short, yes! You can feed water to the included Garden Grid™ Manifold from nearly any water source. The most common of course is a garden hose from your spigot.
You can feed water to the Garden Grid™ from your sprinkler system or existing irrigation as long as you have a garden hose adaptor. From this adaptor you can simply run a garden hose to your Garden Grid™ Manifold, or connect it directly. Watch how here.
How Much Soil Do The Raised Garden Beds Require?
All of our raised garden bed layouts list an approximate volume of soil needed in the product details. As a general guide, for every 4×4×17″ tall area (such as our 4×4 Bundle) you will need approximately 25 cubic feet of soil to fill it to the top. But, you can use the HugelKultur method instead to save on soil cost. HugelKultur recommends filling about the first half of your garden bed with logs and sticks, top with a few inches of leaves and other light yard debris/compost, then fill the rest with soil. We recommend a minimum of 8” of soil for shallow-rooting vegetables, 12”+ is preferred for a wider range of plant options.

Can You Use Your Metal Garden Beds In Hot Climates?
Do The Garden Beds Have An Open Bottom?
Yes, our raised beds are bottomless. Open bottoms let excess water escape, preventing root rot. Closed bottoms or self-watering, bottom basins can lead to oversaturation or low soil aeration which can damage roots, and we want your roots to be happy and healthy 🙂

Who is required to display a Prop 65 notice?
Proposition 65 requires companies to put this notice on their products if there is any ingredient that tests over 1/1000th of what the World Health Organization deems as “Safe Harbor Levels” of their list of chemicals, which includes some naturally occurring minerals. While many countries and states rely on federal governing bodies to set these levels in place, California has created their own law and stipulations that companies must adhere to if they plan to do business in the state of California. No other state or country enforces Proposition 65 law aside from the state of California. Formerly known as Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act, Proposition 65 requires the publication of a list of chemicals that the State of California determines causes cancer or birth defects. I’m very excited to put my garden bed bundle together, and get gardening. Living in AZ, winter is the perfect time to plant a lot of crops. Love this bed. Not going to lie getting the plastic off was the hardest part. I can’t wait to plant it up. Love that I was able to get the water grid and raised bed as one bundle. Nothing I had to figure out. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. The water grid is smartly constructed and it was easy to connect to my backyard hose. Highly recommend! Just installed the first of two raised garden bundles. Product looks very well designed and built. Assembly was easy with good instructions. Product arrived without damage. I really like the look, as I am replacing a couple of block and plank raised beds.
